Burberry Prorsum SS2011 Studded Biker Jacket

Burberry Prorsum SS2011 Studded Biker Jacket

$2,750.00

Christopher Bailey is widely regarded for bringing the Burberry label back to present-day prominence. Oft compared to his one-time boss, Tom Ford, who worked the same trick at Gucci, Bailey time and time again found ways to honor Burberry's centuries of history, all while pushing forth progressive, androgynous looks. His apex at the label is often seen as his spring 2011 collection, which was inspired by motorcycle wear designed in the 19th century by Thomas Burberry. The collection paired heavy biker jackets and pants with vulnerable mesh garments — sheer sweaters and safari shirts, most notably. Bailey was always candid about drawing from Burberry’s centuries of history, and the collection displayed his knack for both honoring the past and making it feel fresh in the present.

This studded jacket was featured in the show's penultimate look and has since been recognized as the collection’s most iconic piece. It’s exceptionally heavy and features hundreds of studs along with sturdy Lampo hardware. It’s cut slim through the body and is intentionally cropped to sit straight across the waist.

Condition: 7.5/10. Six studs in total are missing - two on the collar, and two on each of the epaulets.
