Founded in 1990 and existing for barely more than a decade, Beauty:Beast was a crucial presence during the mid-90s explosion of Harajuku fashion, and has since endured as a cult favorite brand. Founded by Takako Yamashita, who went on to serve as creative director of ASICS in the 2010s, the brand often channeled child-like and fairy tale visuals, before distorting them with a unique punk skew.

Take for example this varsity jacket, which displays a Rei Ayanami of Neon Genesis Evangelion- with esque figure with Tinkerbell wings. The character is fully embroidered, and the jacket features sturdy, heavy-weight wool with leather sleeves.
