General Research 1998 Parasite Flannel Cargo Shirt

General Research 1998 Parasite Flannel Cargo Shirt

$300.00

For General Research’s founder Setsumasa Kobayashi, the conceptual thought put behind a garment is as crucial as the physical product itself. For each collection, he retreats to a cabin in the Chichibu mountain range, where he is able to both connect intimately with nature, and let his creativity blossom in an unobstructed environment. Citing Anarchist political theory and Henry Thoreau’s “Civil Disobedience” as his primary influences, his work is highly practical, with form never existing without a function. He has specifically stated that he never uses technical fabrics without a purpose for their use, and that the detailing of his clothing often relates to functionality he found useful while crafting his works in isolation.

This shirt employs the “Parasite” multi-pocket detailing General Research has been remembered for. It features eight pockets, and is constructed with a heavy wool flannel fabric.
