Chrome Hearts 1990s Fleur Knee Leather Biking Pants
Chrome Hearts 1990s Fleur Knee Leather Biking Pants
These lovely pants come from the early days of Chrome Hearts, before their transition into the billion dollar marketing powerhouse they have become. They are from an era when Richard Stark was running the label off the genesis of an idea given to him by some biker friends, specifically Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols and Duff McKagen of Guns n’ Roses, who wanted American made biker gear as high quality as the Italian designer threads they had become accustomed wearing.
Though thought of as a hype-driven label, it’s important to remember Chrome Hearts is quite likely the most important American leather brand of its time, aligning it closer to a mega-luxury version of Schott or Lewis Leathers, more than it has ever been kin of trend-heavy brands. These pants feature Chrome’s signature “Fleur” knee - a stitching pattern which creates a fleur de leis, and silver hardware around the waist. Small biking-oriented details can be seen in touches such as the hidden zip pockets at the waist.
