Dior Homme’s spring 2006 collection would immortalize Hedi Slimane's fascination with The Libertines frontman Pete Doherty. His louche demeanor and idiosyncratic mishmash of mod, military, and teddy boy style made him the perfect face for Slimane’s forever-young tailoring. Staples of his wardrobe such as porkpie hats, suspenders, and polo shirts dotted the runway, while models affected grooming signatures of Doherty, such as close-cropped bangs. The models were further outfitted with mod-patterned tops and razor-sharp slacks and jackets.
