Alexander McQueen '90s Francisco Goya "Tu Que No Puedes" Shirt

$500.00

This top features art from Francisco Goya, typically regarded as one of the most important Spanish painters of the past centuries. Though most famous for his work, “Saturn Devouring His Son,” Goya’s grotesque imagery often took a political bent. His illustrations of Spain’s wartime conflicts were so incendiary they could not be published until after his death.

The bleak and at times satirical nature of Goya’s art makes him a kindred spirit of McQueen, so it’s not surprising the designer would channel his imagery. This long sleeve features a print of his painting "Tu Que No Puedes.” The piece is one of Goya’s earlier works and typifies the kind of caricature style he employed at the time. The shirt’s construction features a couple of notable details as well - the V-neck collar sits high atop the neck, and there are slits on the cuffs.

Condition: 8/10. Slight sign of wear on the inner neckline.
