During their early-2000s peak, Dolce & Gabbana's runway shows were a throwback to a bygone era of superstar models and latent sexuality for little more than the sake of vanity. The label reconfigured military and BDSM signifiers into something that was not merely the lurid paraded about for the bourgeoise (as designers like Raf Simons and Hedi Slimane's work at times became), but rather a full revarnishing of the aesthetic into works that emanated aspects of both the opulent and the taboo.

These pants were a crucial piece from Dolce’s defining fall 2003 collection. They feature a soft nylon fabric with a slight sheen, and perpendicularly intersected bondage straps, which were the defining detail of the collection’s pants.
