Undercover AW2009 Ethnic Rider Jacket
Jun’s 2009 “Earmuff Maniac” stands as one of his early experimentations with the techwear-influenced construction techniques he later embraced. These trials can be seen in his now famous gradient and membrane pieces. Jun blended his new dalliances with several of his old staples, as he dusted off “Scab” motifs for a variety of pants, and displayed Joy Division’s “Unknown Pleasures” album cover in both overt and subtle forms.
This leather stands as Jun Takahashi’s most famous inversions of the classic biker jacket. It’s made with a calfhide body, and wool sleeves delicately placed at the shoulder with glistening black beads and coins that feature a skull on one side and Jun’s rallying cry, “We Make Noise Not Clothes” on the other. The interior is adorned with the album cover from Joy Division’s 1979 debut, “Unknown Pleasures.”
