Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring 1998 show referenced iconoclasts of the past and present, focusing on Marilyn Manson and Frida Khalo. The latter received visceral tribute throughout the show, with numerous models sporting unibrows and crying tears of faux blood.

Several different multi-colored enamel necklaces were released within the collection. Others were far more serious, detailing such harsh statements as “hate,” while this one is imbued with more than a touch of amusing irony, writing “Mum” in the heavy metal font seen throughout the season. An array of gothic charms and religious iconography circle the word, a staple of Gaultier’s aesthetic.

Condition: 8/10. Some of the enamel on the charms has worn away.
