Walter Van Beirendonck’s AW2004 “Cloudy Stars” collection contained many of the creative signatures of his eponymous label — including the use of masks to obscure faces, and a celebration of nature. The collection was perhaps more sartorially focused than Van Beirendonck’s usual output, with an emphasis on tartan schoolboy coats and trousers. There was no shortage of mischief, found in decorative BDSM belts, and knit monkey scarves, which were perhaps the highlight of the presentation.

This cardigan was seen in the presentation and features many of the season’s visual signatures. It bares the season’s name, “Cloudy Stars,” along with a “2027” on the backside. In a unique design quirk, the ribbed hem is elongated to cover much of the body of the knit.

Condition: 9/10. No significant flaws.
