Walter Van Beirendonck SS2009 "Skin King" Leather Pants
Walter Van Beirendonck SS2009 "Skin King" Leather Pants
Walter Van Beirendonck’s spring 2009 collection, titled “Skin King,” was both familiar and strange, containing many of the Belgian designer’s more oblique creative signatures. Prosthetics and anthropomorphized references to nature appeared, as models wore masks of leaves and branches. There were heavy doses of slim-fitted, synthetic fabrics, and sheer rain coat-like outerwear, giving a sporty aura to the collection.
These lamb leather pants are a sample pair, and are crafted with an ultra-skinny taper leading to zippers at the hem. They have 3-D panelling on each leg, a signature detail of the collection, which could be seen across numerous different pairs of pants across the runway.
